Introduction

Silicone Modified Polyester (SMP) Coated Steel is a high-grade coil coating system that integrates silicone into the polyester resin. This modification significantly enhances the coating's durability, UV resistance, and gloss retention compared to standard Polyester (PE). SMP fills the performance gap between PE and HDP/PVDF, offering a very robust, cost-effective solution for exterior applications in moderately harsh climates. It is frequently chosen for its reliable performance over a long lifespan (typically 10-15 years) without excessive cost.

The addition of silicone provides a tougher, more weather-resistant surface while maintaining excellent flexibility for forming and profiling.
